Yes, Malala Was Right!

The news came that Musarrat Zeb, a lawmaker elected on a PTI ticket, blamed that the attack on Malala Yousufzai was staged by different groups including rights activists.
Though it is very said to see such remarks about the youngest-ever Nobel Peace Prize laureate, these statements are not new at all. Since the attack was carried out on Malala in 2012, so many people and parties have been criticizing her the same way.
Question is what crime had a so little girl committed? Did she plan to be used as a suicide bomber on a church at Easter like Noreen Laghari or did she always defend, like Ahsan Ullah Ahsan, every the blood shed carried out by TTP in Pakistan? When no, why so much absurdity against her?
Truly speaking, she just raised her voice against the Taliban terrorists during the period when their brutality was on its peak. It was the time when Taliban and other extremist groups were trying to impose their self-conceived form of Islam in Pakistan on gun point.

Whoever opposed, was threatened, attacked and even killed. They also killed common men and women no matter they were at bazars, in mosques, churches or even at graveyards. Killing over one hundred (100) innocent children at Army Public School (APS), Peshawar was the worst form of brutality they committed against the Pakistanis.

Despite the fact that the TTP`s ill-deeds were obviously against the teachings of Islam, no one spoke against them either because of having inclination towards them or due to the fear of a painful death by their hands. However, in spite all the threats and the resulting fear, it was Malala, a little school girl, who raised voice against them. But, Malala`s courage enraged the inhuman Taliban who, as a result, attempted to silence her voice forever.
The attack badly injured her, but luckily survived. The bitter aspect of this was that the attack and the resulted serious injuries were considered fake and were made fun of by many people like the PTI`s MNA Musarrat Zaib. Malala was also charged of trying to defame Islam and Pakistan allegedly on the instruction of the western world.
Honestly, it was Malala Yousufzai who had set an unprecedented example of bravery for the political and religious leaders as well as rulers of the country who did not act against Taliban as was expected from them.

Yet, no one stood up to at least condemn the Taliban`s attack on her except MQM`s founder Altaf Hussain who not only strongly condemned the attack, but also staged a huge rally in Karachi in order to extend the public support to her.

Recently, during an interview at Geo news program “Jirga”, the TTP`s official spokesperson Asan Ullah Ahsan, eventually revealed that Taliban misused the name of Islam and killed thousands of Pakistanis.

Now after the volunteer confession of the rascals` spokesman, had it not been crystal clear that whose slogans for Islam were truly fake and that actually who used the name of Islam in order to justify their terrorism and, thus, painted an extremely distorted picture of our religion and home land before the world?

Since after the real face of Taliban had got exposed by their own man, it was the time for people to realize their mistake and officially accept Malala Yousuf Zai as the bravest daughter of the nation. They, as a nation, should have joined hands with her for promoting education to counter the increasing extremism in the society so that no other daughter of the nation could become the victim of radicalization like Noreen Laghari.

But the statement of Musarrat Zeb indicates that there are still some people who are not in a mood to accept the reality and come out of the influence of radicalization.

Considering this, it can be said that as long as we have this sort of mindset prevailing in the society, more people will likely to be turning into Ahsan Ullah Ahsan and Noreen Laghari in the days to come.
