Is it not incitement of ethnic cleansing of Muhajirs??

While addressing a political gathering of PDM held in Hyderabad, Shah Owais Noorani, a leader of JUP, gave a threat of mass killings to those (belong to Urdu speaking community) demanding the division of Sindh for a new province.

It is fact that the view has grown stronger that there should be a separate province for the Urdu speaking community in Sindh due to the decades-long racism and the resulting discrimination in almost every field of life. It is assumed that a new province would help the people get rid of the ongoing victimization and to have a sigh of relief for them. However, Altaf Hussain, the leader of Urdu speaking community (commonly known as Muhairs) is still trying to find out a solution to the grievances by way of mutual understanding with Sindhi leaders avoiding the division of Sindh.

But, Owais Noorani, instead of apologizing, stood by his evil act in the name of defending Pakistan and Sindh. Question is, does the constitution of Islamic Republic of Pakistan prohibit formation of new provinces within the country? When no, then how the hell did he dare to utter such a nonsense? Was giving such a threat not a deliberate act of incitement of ethnic cleansing of Muhajirs?? By the way, did he ever use such a derogatory language against those who brutally killed Muhajirs in Pacca Qila, Sohrab Goth, Liyari, Kati Pahari?? No, never!

Along with the hatemonger, there were also other political and religious leaders sitting on the same stage in the gathering, but none of them either noticed Owais Noorani`s enmity for Muhajirs or disowned that. The Pakistan media, which had made a mountain out of a molehill of Altaf Hussain`s one specific address by portraying it as a hate speech, also ignored the threat of bloodshed as if it was acceptable for them too. This reflects nothing, but absolute hypocrisy!

The history reveals that this is not the first time a hater has expressed his hostility. In fact, there is a long list of chauvinists who have expressed their similar xenophobia against Muhajir community. Gohar Ayub, Mumtaz Bhutto, Ghulam Sarwan Awan, Shahi Syed, Zulfiqr Mirza, Abdullah Shah (former CM Sindh), Qadir Magsi, Ayaz Palejo, all fall in the same category. Moreover, Muhajirs did not merely face their derogatory language, but also physically became the victims of the resulted oppressions in the form of attacks at their areas, targeted killings, custodial deaths and mutilated dead bodies of MQM`s activists following their enforced disappearances. Muhajirs have lost thousands of lives of their loved ones, especially of youths, during the last three decades owing to the same racism.

Needless to mention that it was the duty of the state authorities, judiciary, political leaders and the media to play their role in order to stop the continuing brutality and to provide justice to the oppressed community. But, very unfortunately, Altaf Hussain and his party MQM (the flag bearers of Muhajir rights), have turned out to be the biggest victim of the power abuses in Pakistan.

The haters, including Owais Noorani, may be of the view that by maliciously propagating and playing the foul game against Altaf Hussain can demoralize his followers and thus end the political struggle. But, truly speaking, all these malevolent acts are not only automatically exposing their evil mentality, but are also proving each and every stance of Altaf Hussain.
