LET US REFORM OURSELVES

There was a king who had one eye and one leg. He asked all the painters to draw a beautiful picture of his. But, all of them were not ready to draw. As how come they show him beautiful with defects in one eye and one leg. One of them agreed and drew a classic picture of the king. It was a fantastic picture and everyone was surprised. He painted the king aiming for a hunt, targeting with one eye closed and a leg bent for it.
Learning a moral lesson from this, do we try to paint the weakness of the people around us like this? Unfortunately, we do not do so, nor do we somehow try to help the people removing them. Rather, we look for such loopholes so that we can make the fun or can get the benefits of the same in case of need. This is the way we look at the weakness or defects of the person whom we know.
It seldom happens when we are highlighting only good aspects of some persons. These lucky people are the ones whom we like very much. Since they are in our good book, we neither ourselves talk about their “defects” nor do we ever allow anyone else highlight them.

However, regarding the present or obscure loopholes of the people we dislike, Oops!
When we do not like some people or we have any sort of differences with them, no matter they have any weakness or not, we paint their pictures as if they have no eyes, no ears, no nose, hands or legs. We portray them like they are the ugliest, most horrible and the worst creature on earth. The mischievously spread SMS`s, emails, home-edited videos, funny pictures, distorted photos with very abusive remarks of the actors, actresses, anchorpersons and politicians truly indicate the type of feelings we have in our hearts for them. Not only them, but also the religious scholars have become the victim of such nonsense. In fact, we are not realizing what sort of image we are creating of our society by behaving in this way. It is believed that a look at the traffic can easily indicate how civilized or uncivilized the people in a society are. But, no need to observe the traffic system in our country, the above-stated facts have now become another standard to serve the same purpose.

As per our beliefs, God will hide the weaknesses of the people who will hide the loopholes of the persons in this world. God asks the Muslims not to call names the gods of the non-deniers lest they should react in the same way. In fact, by showing our disrespect to others, we are giving a kind of right o treat us in the same way. That is why we are seeing a series of negative reactions in our society. Although these things make it clear that such nonsense should be avoided any way, yet we are doing the same.
In addition to this, we have also begun to use the holly Quran not in the support of our innocence, but especially for the sake of charging our rivals. The very well-known examples are of Zulfiqar Mirza and Malik Riaz who held press conferences and leveled charges on their rivals. When Zulfiqar Mirza came up with the holly Quran in his hands to prove that all his words were true,  the majority of the people believed him arguing that being Muslim it was the requirement of the belief to believe the person`s claims who has held the holly Quran in his hands.
As per the prevailing judicial system in Pakistan, no judgment is given only on the basis of the claims made by anyone with his hand on the holly Quran. Rather, he has to prove all his claims in the court through the supporting arguments and relevant proof and evidences. So, legally speaking, ZM had to prove all his charges in the courts. But the people were not giving any consideration to it; they were just showing their respect towards the holly Quran. In other words, these were not the documents that ZM had, but it was the holly Quran which was convincing the people to believe his words.
Similarly, Malik Riyaz also held a press conference and leveled very severe charges directly on Arsalan Iftekhar and indirectly on the CJP. He was also holding the holly Quran in his hands to make people believe him. But, this time people showed their reaction quite differently. They did not believe Malik RIyaz in the same way as in the case of Zulfiqar Mirza.
The question is, why did the people behave in a different way? If, in the case of ZM`s press conference, it was the requirement of being Muslim to believe him, why did this “Islamic” requirement not work for Malik RIyaz? Were both of these persons not Muslims? Had they not brought the same Book in their support?
Logically, if it was really the requirement in Islam to believe the person who has held the holly book in his hands, then claims of both persons Zulfiqar Miza and Malik Riyaz should have been given equal importance. But, it did not happen. Why did we behave so differently? God knows the best whether it was the respect and love for CJP and his son that made us ignore the importance of the holly Quran or it was the enmity for MQM and Altaf Hussain that compelled people to give so much value to the holly book. Whatever the case was, this contradiction pointed out how we behave intentionally or unintentionally.

All these things indicate that the two strong feelings of love and hatred have overcome our minds. We have almost become their salves. We are not in a position to direct them; in fact, they lead us to the way they want. Whether we love or hate anyone, we go to the extreme. This is the root cause of most of the evils present in our society. If we do not control them now, morally our society will get deteriorated with the passage of time. May God save us from all sorts of evils!
