Is Sidelining KKF Not Adding To The Miseries of Karachi-ites?

Once again, MQM is facing problems in raising funds for its welfare wing Khidmat-e-Khalq
Foundation (KKF). Once again Rangers are creating hurdles in the way by conducting raids, arresting the volunteers even for keeping receipt books printed for collecting donations from people. Question is, is using a document for acknowledging donations illegal?
It is important to keep this in mind that a receipt is a document which shows who received what from whom. The purpose of using documentation for receiving donations is to keep a record so as to minimize the possibilities of any frauds, embezzlement or use of money for any illegal purposes. Taking into account this, why are the Rangers considering keeping such a document as a crime to arrest MQM & KKF`s volunteers?

Rangers defend their actions claiming that they want to ensure that the money so received cannot be used for any criminal purposes. But, principally speaking, this objective can easily be achieved by allowing only the legally registered and trustworthy organizations to approach people for fund raising because criminal groups never get registered to avoid being traced. Regarding MQM`s welfare wing KKF, it is a registered organization and has one of the biggest networks in Pakistan. It has been serving humanity for about thirty years regardless of any ethnicity, religion, sect and region. Furthermore, KKF was established by MQM which is the most popular party of the city and has been bagging the highest number of votes from people over three decades. Who else can be more trustworthy for Karachi-ites than their own elected people and party?

It is an open secret that the Pakistani political and religious parties are divided into two main categories, first liberal and second pro-Taliban parties. MQM is the most prominent name in the category of anti-Taliban or anti-extremist group. On the other hand, there is a long list of political and religious parties which directly or indirectly defended the Taliban`s terrorism in Pakistan. In addition to them, many banned outfits are resurfacing under new names in Karachi and are trying to make money from here by hook or by crook. In such a scenario, is it wise to sideline the people`s most favorite party and leave the ground for other groups backed by political rivals? Is using state machinery against MQM, not in turn, creating a space for the extremist groups? Should such an act not be termed as deliberately assisting the radical groups in financing their evil acts?

What has been imposed over MQM these days is almost the similar situation intentionally created during the 2013`s general elections against it. That time, Taliban groups had been let loose to by force throw MQM out of the election race in order to leave the ground for pro-Taliban political and religious groups. This time, Sindh Rangers, the sub-force of Pakistan army, are playing that role with the similar object. The authorities involved in this filthy game, are merely promoting radicalization in the country which would never bring any positive outcome for Pakistan like in the past.
There is one more very disappointing aspect of this. Everyone knows that Karachi-ites are the people (mainly Urdu speaking) who have been the biggest victims of the long-prevailing terrorism committed not only by the patronized terrorists, but also by the state authorities in the name of restoring peace in the city. Yet, no relief package, consisting of financial assistance, was ever announced for them. This has been only MQM which has been trying to help out the deserving people to the extent it can through its welfare wing KKF.

We also know that Karachi-ites always came forward to financially contribute for the Pakistani Muslim brothers irrespective of their political affiliation, ethnicity, sec, religion and region whenever they were in need. Even they did not hesitate to give out donations for the projects which had to be built not in Karachi, but other parts of the country. Now, when the Karachi-ites are in need, it was the moral duty of all the beneficiaries (i.e., other political as well as religious parties and NGO`s) to come forward to financially support the victim`s families as who else could be more deserving than the affected people of Karachi?
But, very unfortunately, not speaking of helping the Karachi-ites out, all of them have sealed their lips over the way MQM is being sidelined by the Rangers. Why? Due to their political differences with MQM and it voters or just because they will come in the position to grasp MQM`s left over share of donations in the city??
Whatever the reason is, the worsening situation of Karachi and its people is isolating them from the rest of the country which is not good at all for a country which has already lost its bigger part due to the same reasons.
