“Over My Dead Body!”

“Over My Dead body” is the expression that clearly shows that someone wants to resist against the pressure that is being imposed on him to do something against his will. On one hand, this states the level of resistance that the under-pressure person wants to make. On the other hand, it also indicates that he knows it very well that his unwanted, undesired act can be made to take place after his death, i.e., over his dead body.

On the 3^rd death anniversary of Dr. Imran Farooq (Shaheed), the Scot Land Yard`s-cum-Pakistani media report came up about his murder investigation. As per the Pakistani media report, the Scot Land Yard claimed that the main cause behind the murder of Dr. Imran Frooq was forming a new arty. “For that purpose, he had made a face book page too”, media said. Furthermore, regarding the progress of the investigation, the SLY also stated that it had spoken with 4076 persons, read 6,300 documents and reviewed countless cases for its still on-going investigation. However, the SLY did not mention the number of concrete and relevant evidences it could manage to derive from those activities.

By the way, if the claim of forming a new party by Dr. Imran Farooq was true, why were his family members totally unaware of this? Why did he not share this relatively a big decision of his life with the people who were very close to him, i.e., his wife, father, mother, brothers and sisters?

The social media-users are aware of this open fact that forming a page on a social media, especially face book, and uploading some information on it is just like making an announcement publicly about it. No matter someone is directly relevant to it or not, specifically addressed or not, view it very easily. So, the question is, when Dr. Imran Farooq, as the media reports claim, had really made a public announcement about forming a new party by making a face book page, why did his own family members remain unaware of it? How strange it is that, as per allegation, he had been, through his face book page, “interacting” outsiders from all over the world for his alleged new party, but he was not in touch with his own wife on this important matter?  

We must not ignore the fact that his wife Ms. Shumaila Farooq had been a political colleague with Imran Farooq for MQM. She also played her role as an MQM legislator in Provincial assembly. Not only her, even Dr. Imran Farooq`s father Mr. Farooq Ahmed had also politically worked for Altaf Hussain on the advice of his son during the military operations. It was the time when the military operation was on its peak and head money was announced for Dr. Imran Farooq, while he was in hiding as per the party policy. That was the toughest time when his old aged father came up to continue his son`s mission to support Altaf Hussain in filed and also in the National Assembly as the MQM legislator. 

So, logically speaking, in the case of forming a new party, both of them, his wife and father, would have been the most committed, sincere and dedicated founding workers, rather leaders, of his alleged new party than anyone else from the outside. Then, why didn`t he share his “intention” with his own closest family members if he was really in a mood to form a party? Who else could have been the most loyal to him in his “new” party if not his own family members?

It is on record that, like the parents, the deceased`s widow Ms. Shumaila Farooq several times expressed her confidence on the MQM`s founder. On the 3^rd death anniversary of her husband, once again she termed the murder of her husband as another sacrifice for Altaf Hussain and his philosophy which, in fact, is undeniable evidence against the entirely baseless claim on partying his way. Consequently, how can so important statements from the most relevant and close relatives of the deceased be ignored? The question is, if the on-record statements of the deceased`s family cannot be trusted in the investigation, will a third person from the outside lead the murder investigation? The question is, why is the SLY completely ignoring the evidences from the deceased`s family. 

By the way, did the SLY try to ask the widow and his parents if they ever heard about the so-called Imran Farooq`s “spokesman” from the deceased`s mouth? Did they ever see any “Naeem Ahmed” coming to see Dr. Imran Farooq at any stage of in his life? I am sure, if such questions had been raised, the “conclusion” would be altogether different from whatever has been claimed?

To tell the truth, Dr. Imran Farooq`s political life is composed of very hardships that he had to face just because of politically supporting Altaf Hussain and his philosophy. Because of his so severe “crime”, all the anti-MQM forces made him their target. Countless baseless FIR`s were registered in his name. Not only that, even a license-to-kill was issued from the state, by announcing head money for him, i.e., whoever brought his head, the state would award the killer with millions of rupees. Moreover, then law-enforcement Agencies conducted countless raids at Altaf Hussain’s house and harassed his family members.  As a result, his old parents had to leave their own home with their daughters and sons in order to find a shelter. Luckily, Ms. Shenaz Sehgal, a well-known Kashmiri expert of flower making _Aike bana, provided them shelter at her house. However, the law-enforcement agencies raided her house too and humiliated her on providing shelter to Dr. Imran Farooq`s old parents. All that oppression kept on taking place, but not a single newly emerged Imran Farooq`s “fans” could dare to come up to support his family. All those anchorpersons, columnists, journalist, political and religious leaders who, now-a-days look to be very much concerned to provide justice to the deceased`s family, had closed their eyes and sealed their lips over what was happening to Dr. Imran Farooq and his old parents. 

But, despite all those hurdles and hardships, he did not betray his leader. Then, the law-enforcement agencies introduced a new conspiracy about him and one of already MQM`s workers, was forced to state his “self-confession” that he had killed and buried Dr. Imran Farooq on the instructions of Altaf Hussain after the differences with him. On the basis of that “revelation”, all the anti-MQM elements especially including the media created a dense cloud of propaganda about the relationship between Altaf Hussain and Dr. Imran Farooq. However, once again all the liars got unmasked when Dr. mran Farooq somehow managed to reach London and hugged his leader. That was in fact a big slap to all those media-persons, politics and religious parties as well as the Pakistani establishment who had been spreading baseless propaganda between the relationship of Altaf Hussain and Dr. Imran Farooq.

We know that PTI`s Imran Khan is one of those people who has always been Altaf Hussain`s deadly rivals. But, now-a-days, he is also trying to pose himself as Imraqn Farooq`s sympathizers. In 2007, when Imran Khan leveled the same old allegations on Altaf Hussain and came to London to utilize his links with the British government against MQM`s leader, there was not anyone else, but Dr. Imran Farooq himself , who not only defended Altaf Hussain, but also countered Imran Khan face to face in a special talk show (View Point) in London by Geo TV.

After watching this program, it reveals very clearly what his views were for all the anti-Altaf Hussain elements including Imran Khan.

In short, during his political life, Dr. Imran Farooq did not let his leader down at any stage. From his first day in APMOS to his death, he proved his commitment to his Quaid even by sacrificing his life. He consistently faced every form of oppressions from the state just for supporting Altaf Hussain. But, proving his loyalty to his leader, he gave a clear message to all the MQM`s enemies that he would not separate from his leader at all. If it is somehow done, it might be accomplished only over his dead body.

His message actually turned into the reality when after his death, his loyalty and sincerity to his leader Altaf Hussain is being distorted; his leader is being targeted and his death is being utilized for this evil purpose. All that is taking place over his dead body. What could not be done in his life before his eyes, is now being accomplished after his death with his eyes closed.
