The 2nd Time Murder Of Dr. Imran Farooq!

Ever since the MQM`s Convener Dr. Imran Farooq was murdered in n London in 2010, MQM and its leadership have been made the target point by both the media as well as the political rivals. From the days first, Altaf Hussain`s enemies have portrayed his picture in the back ground of this high profile murder. Whatever was remaining in this context, the BBC2 has accomplished it by making and telecasting a documentary against him.     

Truly speaking, despite all the media reports, speculations and the rival`s accusations, the Scot Land Yard has neither finalized its investigation, nor has formally declared and arrested any one as a culprit in the case. Then, the question is, why are the anti-MQM elements pointing out towards MQM and its Quaid?

One very interesting fact that most of the people either do not know or have forgotten is that this is the 2^nd time murder of Dr. Imran Farooq. Yes, he had already been killed in 1996 by one of MQM`s worker on the order of Altaf Hussain due to very serious conflicts with him. This is what that was presented by the Pakistan law-enforcement agencies in 1996. According to their investigation report, an already arrested MQM worker “self-confessed” that he had killed Dr. Imran Farooq on the order of Altaf Hussain and buried his dead body in Balochistan.

That time too, almost all the news papers, columnists, analysts and the political parties had made their minds to declare Altaf Hussain and MQM as the killer of Dr. Imran Farooq. Due to that, MQM workers and supporters had to face very tense and unfavorable situation in the country.

But, all the anti-MQM elements eventually had to face the awkward situation when Dr. Imran Farooq arrived in London in 1999 and went to MQM`s Quaid Altaf Hussain. Now, the question is, when, according to the Pakistani law-enforcement agencies and the confession of the killer (MQM worker), Dr. Imran Farooq had been killed in 1996 and buried in Balochistan, then how did he emerge as an alive? Did he get his re-birth after his murder? Or, perhaps, MQM had made and presented his dummy to prove itself as innocent? No, of course not! In fact, whatever was claimed about Dr. Imran Farooq`s murder in the name of fair and transparent investigation and self-confession was a blatant lie. In fact, it was a mischievously planned act not only of maligning MQM before the people, but also to shake the trust of MQM workers on their Quaid. But, all that went in vain.

This time too, when we see the media propagated allegations in respect of the murder of Dr. Imran Farooq, this looks to be the 2^nd episode of the same drama to malign MQM. Before and after the 1^st time murder of Dr. Imran Farooq in 1996, the fabricated stories of “serious conflicts” with Altaf Hussain and his resulting “plan” to form another group against MQM were the ones that were used as a base to hold MQM and Altaf Hussain responsible for his murder. But, the alive arrival of Dr. Imran Farooq in London and expressing his unconditional confidence on Altaf Hussain altogether rejected all the table stories about him and his relationship with his Quaid.   

In addition to Dr. Imran Farooq, the murder of MQM`s then chairman Azeem Ahmed Tariq was also used to target Altaf Hussain. The same stories were spread by the anti-MQM elements. But, the balloon of that propaganda was burst by the clear statement of the father of Azeem Ahmed Taiq, Mr. Haseem Uddin from USA in which he said, “ Azeem Ahmed Tariq and Altaf Hussain are my two sons. The elements who are making such an allegation, will have to prove it too.”

Similarly, in the murder of “Takbeer”`s editor Moulana Salah Uddin, again MQM was on the hit list. Even “self-confession” of MQM workers was presented as a proof as well. However, that conspiracy too failed when the daughter of Salah Uddin herself held a press conference and held her husband Rafique Afghan (who was also working with him for the same magazine “Takbeer”) responsible for the murder.

Not only these, there was one more similar allegation leveled by the PML-N`s 

then opposition leader Ch. Nisar according to which MQM`s former MNA Tariq Mehmood had been suspiciously killed in Karachi. But, Ch. Nisar had to face his own spit on his face when Tariq Mehmood himself held a press conference and strongly denied the Ch. Nisar`s allegation that he had been killed and he made it clear that he still had the confidence on MQM and Altaf Hussain.

Taking into account all these facts, does the 2^nd time murder of Dr. Imran Farooq in 2010 and the resulting propaganda against MQM and its Quaid look different from the past stories? Is it not another replica of what MQM has successfully faced so many times? Yes, this is the traditional story with a new version of one more intrigue targeting MQM. However, Insha Allah, the result of the latest version of the old story would not be different from the past. Once again, all the anti-MQM elements would eventually face the spit on their own face.
