Is MQM About To Face Another Murder Charge After Dr. Imran Farooq?

In a talk show “News Beat” on Sama TV (of July 14, 213) hosted by Paras Khursheed, a famous anchorperson and senior journalist Dr. shahid Masood revealed from his sources that the governor Sindh Dr. Ishart-ul-Ibad was in danger. He said, “My very reliable sources have informed me that on the last visit of Dr. Ishrat-ul-Ibad to Dubai, two young men with the intention to harm him checked in the hotel room close to the one in which Dr. Ishrat-ul-Ibad was staying. However, by coming to know in the right time, the relevant authorities immediately removed the young men from there and asked the governor Sindh to be careful.” In that respect, he also gave the impression that the life threat was as the result of internal conflicts in MQM.

The question arises here is if whatever was claimed by him was really true and that the Dubai authorities had been aware of the plan of the two young killers in advance, then why did they just remove the killer from the hotel? Why did they not arrest them and interrogate as to who asked them to harm the governor Sindh and why? Moreover, on what basis have his “reliable sources” informed Dr. Shahid Masood that the life threat to the governor Sindh is due to the internal differences in MQM? In other words, was he not accusing MQM of having a plan to assassinate Dr. Ishrat-ul-Ibad?

Frankly speaking, Pakistan has become the country where the law & order is in the worst state. The increasing crimes, ongoing suicide attacks and the well-planned terrorist attacks at military installations including the Army headquarters (GHQ) had already made the performance of our law-enforcement agencies quite questionable. On top of it, the presence of the internationally most wanted person Osama Bin Laden in a militarily sensitive area for about 9 years has shred the credibility of the Pakistani intelligence network in the country. Taking into account all these, what are the Dr. Shahid Masood`s “reliable sources” which have exposed an assassination conspiracy in advance along with the hints to the planners? Are his well-informed sources more intelligent and proactive than the Pakistani LEA including the ISI which remained completely blind of the presence of Bin Laden in Pakistan?

To tell the truth, it has been very common that many anchorpersons, journalists, senior politicians and the analysts having been making several important “leaks” on the basis of their “very reliable sources” especially targeting MQM. Importantly, in most of the cases, their claims have taken place as they were “revealed” before. The question is how do these sources “expose” in advance only the incidents whose blame is eventually leveled on MQM and its leadership? The murders of the MQM`s chairman Azeem Ahmed Tariq, the editor of “Takbeer” Maulana Salah Uddin, Hakeem Saeed, S.M. Tariq, Dr. Imran Farooq and hundreds of MQM’s workers and office bearers are the ones for which various “inside stories” of alleged plans of their assassination by MQM had already been spread through news reports, columns, journalists’ investigation reports and the confessions of already arrested MQM workers before they were killed. (The news papers and the TV programs of those periods reflect the same).

In all these incidents, MQM was charged as the culprits. In that scenario, none of the victims was alive to prove the MQM’s innocence in the cases. However, the safe arrival of Dr. Imran Farooq in London and expressing his confidence on MQM’s Quaid after his first time murder in 1996, exposed the reality of all “leaks” from these so-called “most credible sources”. The point to be noticed here is that despite the reality of the military operation, Jinnah Pur, Major Kaleem case, Hakeem Saeed` murder and the allegation of the first time murder of Dr. Imran Farooq came up before the people and all the charges on MQM proved blatant lies, yet none of the news reporters, journalists, columnists, anchorpersons, analysts and the political rivals accepted their ill-deeds and sought apology from MQM leadership on this. The question is when the allegations on MQM turned out to be false, why did the media persons not take this up? Whether these people were already aware of the reality behind these allegations or they were biased, they neither expressed their surprise on the truths that eventually came up nor did they highlight the innocence of MQM. Whatever the reason was, in either of the cases, it cannot be expected from them that they would ever spread truth regarding MQM.

Therefore, the maliciously planned “leaks” from the same “well-informed sources”, indicates that the evil mindset is once again trying to fertilizing the ground of another murder to malign MQM. This time, the target looks to be the governor Sindh Dr. Ishrat-ul-Ibad. The way the planned disinformation is being spread in the name of the “most reliable sources” about the so-called differences between Dr. Ishrat-ul-Ibad and his party, MQM will have to take this evil plan will seriously and should investigate what the Dr. Shahid Masood has claimed. The MQM leadership should immediately contact the governor Sindh and the Dubai authorities so that the reality can be brought to light. Otherwise, it will not only face another murder charge from the establishment, but may also lose one of its very dedicated, honest and sincere senior members. May Allah save Dr. Ishrat-ul-Ibad and MQM from all kinds of conspiracies…Aameen.
